i know right, kindof embarrassing,

one of my favourite things I saw in New York was this small little late Byzantine piece in theFrick Collection; a virgin and child no less,
it was so much lovelier in person, with much more detail, and the carving and painting is all one piece of wood, tucked away in a little corner,
